Attention Composers!

We are pleased to open the American Composers Orchestra’s 2017-18 applications for the Underwood New Music Readings and EarShot orchestra residencies. If you have an orchestral composition that has not been performed, and your works have not been performed by 2 or more professional orchestras in your career thus far, we want to hear from you.

Application Receipt Deadline:
October 16, 2017, 5:00pm EST

Composer Notification:
December 15, 2017 for Charlotte and Fort Wayne
January 15, 2018 for Jacksonville and Underwood

2017-18 Residencies:
February 5-8, 2018 Fort Wayne Philharmonic (Fort Wayne, IN)
February 27-March 2, 2018 Charlotte Symphony (Charlotte, NC)
April 17-20, 2018 Jacksonville Symphony (Jacksonville, FL)
June 21-23, 2018 American Composers Orchestra (New York, NY)

This program offers:
•    Your piece rehearsed and performed by a professional orchestra
•    An archival recording of the performance
•    Mentor composers throughout the residency to guide the process and offer feedback

•    National exposure supported by ACO partners New Music USA, American Composers Forum and the League of American Orchestras
•    Travel and accommodations

We encourage composers of all backgrounds to apply and are interested in supporting voices underrepresented in the orchestral repertoire today.
