History of the Iowa Composers Forum(159 total words in this text) (9151 Reads)  Since its inception in March, 1987, the Iowa Composers Forum has become a strong advocacy, service, and performing organization for living Iowa composers. Comprised of 70 members of varying ages, professional training, and interests, the ICF has earned a reputation for musical quality, diversity, and programmatic innovation. Through concerts, workshops, and panel presentations, Newsletters, and annual festivals, the ICF has promoted awareness of Iowa composers and their music, enhanced networking opportunities for Iowa composers and listeners, fostered the creation of new work, and enriched the cultural climate of Iowa.
- The Iowa Composers Forum (ICF) is an advocate for music of all styles, bringing Iowans the diverse,high quality music our composers are creating today.
- The Forum provides networking for member composers, arts organizations, and the Iowa Community. Through the Newsletter, member directory, and personal contacts at events, the Forum connects composers with peers, performers, and presenters.
- The Forum serves as a resource for Iowans seeking information about new music and composers in Iowa.
