In June, 2012, the Iowa Composers Forum will award yearly a $500 college scholarship to help a talented young Iowa composer study music at an Iowa College or University. Interested applicants should be a resident of Iowa and currently be either a Senior in High School or a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior in College. Students need not be a composition major, but should be majoring in music for the 2012-2013 academic year.
The postmark deadline for entries to the Scholarship Competition is May 1, 2012. Applicants should submit one original score and a completed entry form (found below) Applications should be mailed to: Etzel Scholarship Competition; Iowa Composers Forum;

The funding for the scholarship was received from a generous donation by Marion resident and ICF member Marilynn Etzel. Ms. Etzel hopes that the scholarship will help further the creation of new music by young Iowa Composers.
