On Saturday May 16th, the Iowa Composers Forum will host a one-day Nuts & Bolts Festival at the Carl and Mary Koehler History Center in Cedar Rapids, IA. The festival will focus on the core business skills a composer needs in today’s competitive environment – including marketing, networking, commissioning, recording, and fund-raising. The festival will also include an evening concert of chamber music by eight ICF members at the Methwick Retirement Community Center.

The Iowa Composers Forum’s Fall Festival will be held from October 8-10, 2009 at Clarke College in Dubuque. The festival will be a joint festival between the ICF and SCI (Society of Composers). Featured ensembles will include the Maia String Quartet, the University of Iowa Center for New Music, the Clark Collegiate Singers, the Clarke Cantabile Singers, and the Edgewood College Women’s Chorus.

Orchestra Iowa/Cedar Rapids Symphony will be including several orchestral works by ICF members during its 2009-10 Season. The composers and pieces include Michael Gilbertson’s Vigil, Jerry Owen’s Tango, Jeffrey Prater’s Promise, Linda Robbins Coleman’s Lunatics and Lovers--A Symphonic Overture, Jeremy Beck’s Majestic River, Jonathan Chenette’s Rural Symphony, and Eric McIntyre’s Drive By.

The 2008 ICF Festival, Music in the Shape of a Pear will be held on the campus of Luther College in Decorah, IA on Saturday and Sunday, October 11-12, 2008.
The festival will feature four concerts of works by ICF members, two presentations, and a round table discussion titled "Music and Place: the Creative Identity of Iowa Composers."
