Kennesaw State University Fanfare (July 1)

In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Kennesaw State University`s Dr. Bobbie Bailey and Family Performance Center, the KSU School of Music announces a fanfare competition to commemorate this occasion.

The KSU Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. David Kehler, Music Director and Conductor will perform the world premiere performance at the KSU Concert Celebration on October 8th, 2017 at the Bobbie Bailey Performance Center on the Kennesaw State University campus.

Composers are invited to submit their unpublished fanfares to the address below by July 1st, 2017. A committee of KSU School of Music professors will jury all entries and the winner will be announced by August 15th, 2017. Fanfares should be no longer than 3 minutes and instrumentation can include percussion as deemed necessary.

The winning composer will receive the following:
*Cash prize of $500.00
*A live performance in the magnificent Morgan Hall of the Bailey Performance Center on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at 300 pm by the brass and percussion of the KSU Wind Ensemble, Dr. David Kehler, conductor
*Your name and fanfare title credited in the KSU School of Music printed concert program
*Professional live recording and live streaming of the world premiere performance
*Promotion and advertising for the 10th Anniversary Celebration.

Submissions must be postmarked by July 1st, 2017. Please submit your unpublished scores and complete parts to:

The maximum ensemble of musicians is: 8 Trumpet 4 Horn 4 Trombone 2 Euphonium 2 Tuba Percussion and timpani as necessary
